Rubber to Road...

Three and a half hours to go. As of 9 AM, I'll be officially "on vacation." Damn this is gonna be good.

I still don't have much of anything in the way of a plan. I know that I'm generally headed towards San Francisco. From there I'm gonna catch some Redwoods and some Sequoias, and bring in the New Year on a beach on the Pacific. Don't know where yet, and that's something that I'll need to figure out before I leave this morning. I have some leads on where I'll probably go, but the way I figure, as long as I know by the time I cross the CA state line, I'm good. As it is, I'll probably have a day to figure that out since I should arrive some time Saturday and be able to cruise the coast, checking weather and such.

I'm not looking forward to the drive, since it's 30+ hours in good conditions and it looks like I'm driving into the teeth of the worst snow storm of the year. My main concern is the road conditions in the mountains, though, and those should be good. It's not like I'm missing anything if I only see snow driving through Nebraska.

I still need to swing by REI and pick up some last minute things that I couldn't find in the appartment, and I figure that I can pick everything else up as I stop for gas orjust to stretch the legs. I also need swing back and drop off my rent check- dumbass that I am I forgot that last night. It's gonna set me back probably an hour between all this, but screw it. I don't need to rush. Granted, I'm only gonna have about five days out there (I figure one day of screwing off and two two day camping trips), but it should still be good times.

I fully intend to put up a TON of pictures of the trip, so keep posted later on. Don't expect much right away, unless I really feel the need to plop in some coffee shop with free wi-fi. Anyhoo, enough of this crap. Gotta double check the list, tie up loose ends, and get one last shot of NWN2... talk to y'all later.
